From the beginning to today

It’s the fruit par excellence, since Adam and Eve. The fruit of original sin, the poisoned one eaten by Snow White, the falling one which inspired Isaac Newton about gravity, the one hiding The Son of Man by René Magritte, the green one on Beatles records, the big one representing New York City, the healthy one that keeps the doctor away when eaten once a day, and, of course, the one which goes with us in every day of our life: the Apple by Steve Jobs. Its tree is originated in Central Asia, where its wild ancestor, Malus sieversii, is still found today. It has been grown for thousands of years in Asia and Europe and was brought to North America by European colonists.

Apples have religious and mythological significance in many cultures, including Norse, Greek and European Christian traditions, and are still a great source of inspiration for artists and creative minds.
