This isn’t Happiness
A project by Peter Nidzgorski
“Art, photography, design and disappointment,” this is what you’ll find in the world of Peter Nidzgorski, called This isn’t Happiness™. Peter is well known for his reimagined panels especially from Martin Nodell’s cartoons — best known as the creator of the Golden Age superhero Green Lantern —, romance comic books of the 1960s and 1970s, Peanuts and other stuff. He asks his followers to suggest sentences or quotes which he then adds to a specific panel. His theme is modern love. Or rather a satirical take on the shallow, fickle, empty sex, selfie-obsessed and self-destructive nature of modern love, which is probably something most people can relate to.
Peter’s blog, culling and re-presenting a series of images from different sources, is one of the “100 Best Tumblrs of All Time,” according to Complex, as “a heavy grim feeling weighs on the shoulders of each aesthetically pleasing image posted to this 2400 page — and growing — dense tumblr. However, it turns out a lot of people dig that feeling as this Tumblr has grown to be one of the most popular ever created.”
