about Junior Fritz Jacquet

Born in 1979 in Haiti, Junior Fritz Jacquet was fifteen when he discovered the origami in a Parisian library. Since his expertise was inspired by ancestral origami techniques from leaves in one piece, without any addition or cutting or gluing. He uses white paper or colored kraft, rolls of cardboard that folds and crumples to give life to surprising works: masks with multiple expressions, Air light sculptures … In 1997, he joined the French movement of paper folding — MFPP — and the Nippon Origami Association in 2004.

Junior practices the art of origami to its highest level by exploring novel ways that give his works a very personal style. In 2008 he decided to devote himself full time to his art, he exhibited regularly in galleries, participate in Masters of Origami, a prestigious international meeting of virtuosos. He has already made several hundred creations and exhibitions. His works are found in the world’s largest sanctuaries of folding, Origami House Gallery in Tokyo and the Mingei International Museum in San Diego. Footprints lightness, delicacy and mystery, his light sculptures are all metamorphoses paper that play with shapes, folds and creases in the material, shadows and light.
