Illustrated Cynicism

about Eduardo Salles

When the truth is clear enough to become somehow cynic, then maybe that means there is something wrong with our world and the way we’re living and seeing things. Maybe this is the reason everyone hates you and says you’re not so cool with your boring talking about changes: your ideas are not quite comfortable, they still require too much responsibility.

Finally… Just who do you think you are? Can’t you see you’re a failure?

Of course this doesn’t apply to the “illustrated cynicism” — Cinismo Ilustrado — by Eduardo Salles, since the irony of his comics is rather glaring. And, yes, despite the cynicism, we just cannot keep one or more laughter.

Born in Mexico City, in 1987, Eduardo is advertiser, designer, illustrator, writer, professional procrastinator and cultural hacker. He has won awards as diverse as Cannes Lions — advertising —, Walter Reuters prize — journalism — and Juan Rulfo Short Story Award — literature. Currently working as Chief Creative Officer at Flock innovation and technology agency for Nike, Google and American Express. He also collaborates in various magazines and newspapers as a designer/columnist.
