Urban Blinds

If you live outside of a city, maybe sometimes you can get very nostalgic for some landscapes. But now, with a little bit of imagination, and the right blinds, you can be back there again. By treating panels as if they were pieces of paper, Ukrainian designers HoleRoll created real stencils for windows bringing a touch of the urban indoors — without all the typical congestion or noise. You just have to close them to suddenly find yourself in a glittering cityscape at night.

The window blinds have tiny shapes cut out to let pockets of light shine through. It’s the negative space, however, that brings the design to life by mimicking the form of bustling landscapes.
