about Angel Boligán Corbo

The benches are no longer the same. No longer places of meeting and sharing, of emotions and first kisses. They are now a reflection of a past love, places of solitude and expectation, waiting for something that has stopped moving. They now seem so sad in the early beats of the morning, or in the glow of a sunset, symbols of consumerism, ignorance and rudeness…

Always, Latin American humor manages to get our attention with its lightness and sharpness, making us smile and think.

Born in San Antonio de los Baños, Havana, Cuba, Angel Boligán cultivates all the branches of graphic humor, in which it has obtained 167 prizes and international mentions. Since 1992 he lives in Mexico where he works as Editorial Caricaturist in El Universal newspaper, El Chamuco magazines, Foreign Affairs Latin America, and various international media.

Graduated as Professor of Plastic Arts in Havana, he’s the founder of the agency Cartonclub and member of the International Cartoonists Guild, Caglecartoons, in USA, Cartooning for Peace, in Paris, and Writers and Artists of Cuba — U.N.E.A.C.
