Frida Anatomicum

An unprecedented immersion in the creative process of Frida

The new book by Benjamin Lacombe and Sébastien Perez is a succession of cut-out pages and a poetic text leading us into the depths of the soul of Frida Kahlo. Like a collection of thoughts, the book explores the themes that are dear to Frida: love, death, earth, animals. Sébastien inserts in his text sentences extracted from the correspondences of Frida to restore The most sincere and true way that the artist felt “in front of her and in front of her”.

The original of this book and other surprises will be presented on the occasion of the Expo Frida Anatomicum, in Paris.

Born in Paris on July 12th, 1982, Benjamin is one of the author and illustrator representatives of the new French illustration. In 2001, he entered the École Nationale Supé´rieure des Arts Décoratifs — ENSAD — in Paris, where he pursued his artistic training. While in school, he also worked in advertising and animation. Then, at the age of 19, he published his first grahic novel and several other illustrated books.

He lives and works in Paris with his dogs, Virgile and Lisbeth, who are always sneaking in his books.
