Need No Education
about Achim Lippoth
Your children will see what you’re all about by what you live rather than what you say
Wayne W. Dyer
Since we live in a society full of words, losing their strength too soon, as they often are not supported by any action, our children unfortunately are increasingly alienated, without any point of reference, and very bored. They want more facts and less lessons, more time and less television, they need more vitality. This is what ironically seems to come out of the series by the German photographer and film director Achim Lippoth, best known for using child models to stage scenes from everyday life.
He is a traveller, open-minded, creative, forward thinking, constructive, conscientious, thoughtful, interested, a little bit introverted, well-organised, swabian.
Achim is also the editor of kid’s wear magazine, which semi-annually links children’s fashion, contemporary photography and outside-the-box thinking in contributions addressing art, culture and society. He founded the magazine in 1995 in order to show different point of views regarding childhood and fashion, creative, authentic, and free of mawkishness. Contributors include photographers like Michel Comte, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr and Bruce Weber.
As a consequence of his work, Achim, who was born in Ilshofen and presently lives in Cologne, has become a meticulous collector: his library of rare, antiquarian photo books from all over the world is growing and growing…
