There was a war, there was the fear, the end of the Belle Époque. But, despite this, someone didn’t forget about the colors.
Using the Autochrome Lumière, a color photography process that had just appeared, Leon Gimpel, Stephane Passet, Georges Chevalier and Auguste Leon begin to document life in Paris — 1914 — for Albert Kahn, controversial figure from the early 1900s.
Today, thanks to them, we have perhaps one more reason to believe in the calls of wonder and beauty.
